Some of them are pretty expensive, and require like 5 frigate modules to purchase. I have been able to successfully find ONE frigate module in my last two play sessions. It's a Catch 22. I don't know why I was given the fuel blueprints.

There are 6 types of frigate modules, and as alsways you can install 3 of each type. But only one is for the hyperdrives of your frigates. Run frigate missions (The balanced ones that run for longer seem to give better results here for salvage modules and ship expansions. But it's still like 1/3 that gives them, tops). Run Derelicts (not great odds from my experience so far).

What I usually do is check every freighter that appears in my path, sometimes they have 1-2 salvage frigate modules, also get the fuel pods and then using it to send my frigates into expeditions that sometimes also bring back those salvage modules. They nerfed the drop rate for this in a recent release.Another way is through fleet expeditions, is random but I must have gotten like 4 or 5 through that. If it eases your mind, pirating pirates is privateering, just keep your shooting to the huge freighters and you won't lose any rep. Salvaged Frigate Module since Outlaws. It used to be easy to find these in NPC freighter cargo pods. I checked 5 systems, about 2 freighter groups per system and came up with 1 SFM. I suspect its because they added many more cargo items that the SFM are now diluted. Correct me if I'm wrong.

My primary sources for salvage frigate modules in order are 1. Raiding freighters in pirate systems. 2. From frigate missions from my freighter. 3. From raiding derelict freighters. I can usually get about 4 of them within an hour raiding freighters in pirate systems. Same here.
